Call the Do Not Call Listing

Oct 1, 2008 10:12 PM by Discussion: General Discussion

All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
 1-888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your
time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the
cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a
different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20
seconds. or go to http://www.donotcall.gov/

As in what image formats can and can't be used!

Sep 15, 2008 12:15 PM by Discussion: RightClick

Ok....Just started playing around with RightClick skins and I need to know what image formats can be used and where. So far I've found that I can use .bmp or .tga for the right arrows...but not for the up and down arrows. It would be great if just one image format could be used such as .tga or .png...which would also allow for the use of the actual skin parts and would also match the skin more accurately. I've also found that bitmaps don't always work correctly. In one instance it works fine and then the next you can see the pink surrounding the image.

So...if anyone here knows exactly what can and cannot be used by all means let me know...or if there is a tutorial on "creating a skin" for it that would be great as well.

Easy Solution For Saving them all!

Aug 16, 2008 12:45 PM by Discussion: General Discussion
As many of you have seen I have started creating Weather backdrops with all of my recent docks and mostly everyone else has followed along with this.

Here is an easy solution for saving them and not losing any of your weather backdrops that you may start accumulating. Create a "Weather Backdrops" folder in your "My Documents" folder to store them in...and as you acquire them....just name them starting with backdrop1.png and continue on increasing your number of backdrops accordingly. Make sure that you start with the next number in line of your collection as you acquire more of them before moving them to the "Weather Backdrops folder" you created...since when they are created they are usually numbered according to the particular side docks they were created for.

Now...all you have to do if you want to change your Weather backdrop is this...copy and re-paste the backdrop you want to use to the same folder your collection is in....rename it to backdrop.png and move it to the Weather docklets folder in Objectdock and let it overwrite the one that is already in there. You can do this at any time without changing your side docks and you won't lose any backdrops...as long as you continue renumbering them in the Weather backdrops folder.  ;)

Note: This works easily with XP....not so sure now with Vista!

Then you need to visit this site!

This is a site you need to visit to find out when this group will be visiting your area.

"Recently, 60 Minutes heard about an American relief organization that airdrops doctors and medicine into the jungles of the Amazon. It's called Remote Area Medical, or "RAM" for short.

As correspondent Scott Pelley first reported last March, Remote Area Medical sets up emergency clinics where the needs are greatest. But these days that's not the Amazon. This charity founded to help people who can't reach medical care finds itself throwing America a lifeline.

In a matter of hours, Remote Area Medical set up its massive clinic, for a weekend, in an exhibit hall in Knoxville, Tenn. Tools for dentists were laid out by the yard, optometrists prepared to make hundreds of pairs of glasses, general medical doctors set up for whatever might come though the door. Nearly everything is donated, and everyone is a volunteer. The care is free. But no one could say how many patients might show up."

Guys....Be very cerful!

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers. This one really caught me by surprise.

Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.

Here's how the scam works:

Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look!

Well....when you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to McDonalds. You agree and they get in the backseat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen March 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, & 24th, 29th. Also April 1st, 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th, 30th, three times last Saturday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

So tell your friends to be careful.

p.s.   Walmart has wallets on sale 2.99 each!

Ever since the last few updates I've been having a problem after applying a skin. Everything except for my cursor freezes. Objectdock doesn't work...taskar isn't getting skinned...can't even open the startmenu to reboot.

Any ideas whats going on here?

Is there a setting or something I am missing that starts IconPackager with windows? I am "constantly" having to reapply my icons when ever I have to reboot and its really annoying.

Image Paths are now Incorrect

Sep 28, 2007 2:32 AM by Discussion: ObjectDock
It has now been brought to my attention that these new folders implemented in ObjectDock are causing problems with custom Plus/Minus images not showing up on docks. The docks I have created that have custom Plus/Minus images are coded to the "Programs/Stardock/Objectdock/backgrounds" folder for the Plus/Minus images to show up. If you don't have your docks stored in the "Programs/Stardock/Objectdock/backgrounds" folder the custom Plus/Minus images will be reverted to the default Question mark image.

You will now either have to change the Plus/Minus image paths in all the background.ini files to the path you have your docks stored in for each and every "Tabbed" dock having custom Plus/Minus images OR move them back to the original folder listed above. If you don't care about the Plus/Minus images not showing up and don't mind the default question mark image taking its place then don't worry about it.

I personally keep all my docks in one place...in the above mentioned folder...and have no plans on creating multiple background.ini's or duplicate docks for each of these new folders...to much "work" involved.

Hopefully this can be remedied in the future since these extra folders are not really necessary or required by Microsoft.

300,092.00 Docks Served So Far!

Aug 25, 2007 9:13 AM by Discussion: General Discussion
Finally hit the 300,000 download count on dock backgrounds! Minus my redownloads when I had to buy a new harddrive...plus everyone else that had to redownload for whatever reason...ok...never mind...false alarm.
